Seventh Hole

Medinah Country Club (Course 1)

When Medinah’s Tom Bendelow designed #1 course was used as a parking lot, welcome center and merchandise tent for the 2012 Ryder Cup, several of its holes were destroyed in the process. With mitigation funds from the PGA of America dedicated in advance to rehab damaged areas, the club decided to go a step further, putting some of its revenue from the event toward a new 18 holes designed by Renaissance Golf on the site of the existing course. While some of the hole corridors remained the same, the project involved a significantly revised routing and all new greens, bunkers and tees.

McCartin Golf Design was brought in by Renaissance Golf to assist with the shaping of the new golf course features.
